“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
The troubles we experience now are temporary compared with what God has prepared for us eternally.
- Light affliction” — This doesn’t mean our problems aren’t real or painful. It means they are small when compared with God’s eternal promises.
- “But for a moment” — Even a difficult season that lasts months or years is still temporary compared with eternity.
- “Worketh for us” — God can use suffering and hardship to strengthen our faith, develop perseverance, and draw us closer to Him.
- “Eternal weight of glory” — What God has waiting for us far outweighs anything we endure in this life.
Don’t let what you’re going through right now convince you that God has forgotten you. This season is not the whole story. What feels heavy today can ultimately be used by God for something far greater and eternal.
